Michelle Ferris

Trustee

Michelle started volunteering for the Law centre in April 2018 after graduating with a LLB (Hons) from BPP university. Michelle triaged calls from potential clients and either referred to colleagues or signposted elsewhere. This built up a good understanding on the legal needs of the local community. On leaving this voluntary position she did not leave the Law centre and instead became a trustee to continue to support the centre’s work. Michelle has experience in HR, project management, procurement and contract law, risk management and over 30 years’ experience of governance in different guises.

In terms of volunteering Michelle is a guider for a local brownie pack, Vice Chair of Governors for a local school and is involved in the swimming community.

Michelle has a passion for equity, fairness, legal help and most importantly legal justice for those who are not able to afford legal assistance and hence the role as a Trustee at ELC where she is proud to serve in this role.
