Emma Stradling

Senior Housing Supervisor

Emma joined Wiltshire Law Centre in 2021 as its Senior Housing Advisor, having previously worked in a private housing Legal Aid practice. She has  over 18 years of experience in housing Legal Aid, specialising in complex litigation, including tenancy and mortgage possession defences and disrepair, illegal eviction, discrimination, TOLATA and judicial review claim. She also specialises in homelessness appeals and representing defendants in the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 and committal proceedings.

Emma has a passion for defending the rights of the poorest in the community and developing and extending the availability of Legal Aid around the country. Before her housing practice, Emma worked as a litigator in a number of other practice areas and represented clients in the High Court, the Court of Appeal and the European Court of Human Rights. Whilst previously living in South Africa, she worked at the Legal Resources Centre in the Eastern Cape, an independent, non-profit public interest law centre with offices throughout South Africa.

Emma serves as a director of the Law Centre Network.
