Andrew Allan

Chair of the Board of Trustees

Andrew was co-opted onto the Board of Trustees in March 2022, and took on the role of Chair of the Board of trustees in December 2024. Andrew has supported a number of charitable causes in Swindon area including mentoring high-potential low-performing students at Swindon Academy, and as a Leader at local Cub and Scout groups. He was delighted to begin volunteering with WLC when these previous commitments concluded.  

 Andrew has a Masters in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, and Association of Project Management Project Management Qualification. Having begun his career as an Electrical Engineering, he transitioned though on site and consultancy engieering roles before moving into HR recruitment and development. Following which he was a member of a project team delivering restructure and new Operating model at RWE Generation. He then led the project team which brought one of Wales largest Battery Energy Storage projects through development, securing planning consent and preparing for Investment Decision. His current role is Market Development Manger at RWE, managing grid connections for operational and development electricity generation projects and engaging in electricity and gas market and code reform.
