Legal or other advice

Southern England Law Centre currently advises only in relation to Housing and Welfare Benefits matters. We are actively seeking funding to begin advising in other areas, as we recognise the great needs of our communities. We will keep you informed when we are able to offer these additional services.

Benefits

If you require assistance with your benefits claim, we first recommend confirming that you are receiving all the benefits to which you are entitled, using the benefits calculator on the Turn2Us website.

If you need assistance in making your claim or appealing a decision in relation to your existing claim, please contact Citizens Advice.

Debt

If you need debt advice, please contact the Money Advice Service.

Employment

If you have any issues related to employment, please contact ACAS at 300 123 1100.

Family

Please consult the list of Legal Aid providers.

We note that many family law issues are now outside Legal Aid funding. There is a list of organisations providing free family law advice at Supportline.

Immigration

Please consult the list of Legal Aid providers.

Consumer

Please contact the Citizens Advice consumer helpline at 0808 223 1133. Lines are open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Lines are closed on bank holidays.

If you can’t hear or speak on the phone, you can contact Relay UK by typing what you want to say: 18001 then 0808 223 1133.
