We are delighted to
announce that Clare Carter, Chief Executive of The Access to Justice Foundation, will be the guest speaker at the 2026 Southern England Law Centre (SELC) Annual General Meeting.
Clare is an experienced solicitor and charity leader with a longstanding commitment to improving access to justice. Having previously worked as a legal aid solicitor and led frontline advice organisations, she now leads The Access to Justice Foundation, the UK’s only national charity dedicated exclusively to funding free legal advice and representation.
Her work focuses on developing sustainable funding solutions, strengthening the advice sector, and ensuring that individuals facing legal problems can access the support they need.
About The Access to Justice Foundation
The Access to Justice Foundation is a UK-wide charity that raises and distributes funds to support free legal advice, assistance and representation for people who might otherwise be unable to obtain help. The Foundation works with law centres, advice agencies and other community organisations to improve access to justice, particularly for people experiencing disadvantage or social exclusion. It also plays a unique role as the designated recipient of undistributed damages from certain collective actions cases, using these funds to strengthen the free legal advice sector and increase access to legal support across the UK.
Please confirm your attendance or send your apologies via the online RSVP form by Monday, the 2nd of November 2026.
