Community Care Solicitor and/or Supervisor

Salary range: £28,840 – £46,350 (depending on experience)

Hours: 35hrs/week

Reporting to: Senior Solicitor and Managing Director

Southern England Law Centre is a well-funded and growing Law Centre that provides specialist legal advice and representation for South and Southwest England.  

We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Community Care Legal Aid Supervisor to establish and develop a specialist Community Care Law programme, with a view to supervising a Community Care Legal Aid contract.  

The Role 

You will supervise and conduct the full range of Community Care Legal Aid matters.   

As this is a new department, you will develop and implement relevant processes and procedures.  

Person Specification 

The ideal candidate for the position will have: 

  • Community Care Legal Aid Supervisor status; 
  • A minimum of 4 years PQE, with demonstrable experience and knowledge of Community Care Law, hold a current valid practising certificate;  
  • Experience in community care law advocacy; 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills; 
  • An ability to deal with people in difficult and pressurised situations; 
  • Experience of advocating with agencies or services; 
  • The ability to formulate complex legal documents; 
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines and targets.
